Candles
General guidance
The first time you use your candle, burn it for at least two hours so the entire top layer melts. Then, each time you light it after that, try to burn it for at least an hour to let the oil circulate and settle evenly to avoid a well forming. Always keep it on a stable, heat-protected surface, safely away from children, pets and anything that could catch alight.
- Remove all packaging before lighting.
- Keep wicks trimmed to 5mm at all times to avoid smoking.
- Do not burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Stop use when 10mm of wax remains.
- Keep a minimum distance of 10cm between burning candles.
- Never leave a candle unattended.
Diffusers
General guidance
There will be 10 reeds included with your diffuser, but we recommend using just five at a time, (for Bronte, there will be 12 reeds included with your diffuser, but we recommend using just six at a time) swapping the reeds for fresh ones when you’re about halfway through the oil. You can also vary the number of reeds for a subtler or stronger fragrance.
- Once you’ve unpacked your new reed diffuser, carefully pour in the oil. Pop the reed sticks in the bottle and allow 24-36 hours for the scent to diffuse into the room.
- Turn the reeds every two weeks.
- All in all, the oil should last up to six months, depending on the heat of the room (drafts can make a difference too).
- Be sure to place your diffuser on a level surface, away from absorbent and delicate materials (such as fabric, furniture and wallpaper).
- If you spill any, clean it up as quickly as you can to avoid any damage.
- Keep out of the reach of little ones, and please don’t light the reeds or allow them to come into contact with heat sources or naked flames.
