The material
Teak’s a hardwood that’s perfectly suited to life outdoors because it’s resistant to rot. We’ve treated it with our exterior IsoGuard® oil to help protect it and temper its natural honey-brown colour. Over time, it’ll take on a silvered patina.
Sunlounger cushion
All the cushions on our garden pieces have covers made from natural-coloured spun polyester – although weather-resistant (fine with a shower, but bring them in if it rains heavily and over winter), they feel just as soft as a natural linen or cotton fabric. The removable covers are machine washable at 30° too.
How it feels
Harmondworth is a streamlined shape that’s very comfortable to stretch out on. The cushions are firm enough that you won’t feel the frame underneath, and at two metres, it’s long enough for just about every height.
Design detail
There’s a manual mechanism for adjusting the angle of Harmondsworth’s back, because it’s easy to use. There are also two cushions rather than one long one, so they won’t bend out of shape when the lounger’s upright.
Where we see it
Although Harmondsworth is ideal for sunbathing out in the open air, it’s also lovely in a garden room if you want something more suited to lying full length than a sofa.
