Alexandra Browne
Alexandra Browne struggled to find tiles for clients while running her own interior design practice. So, ‘I decided to paint them myself’, she explains. It was an immediate success and now tile-painting is Alexandra’s full-time job.
‘The homes I have lived in over the years have always been more than just the bricks and mortar,’ Alexandra observes. 'I think of them in the context of their area. So, it seems more than fitting that a home should have something of its surroundings grouted into its fabric.’
Hand-painted tiles
Little squares of handmade and hand-painted ceramic art with a strong sense of place. Wimbledon for the tennis. Chiswick evokes the river and Fulham has a diverse parade of strollers along the King's Road. Each motif is painted with the finest of brushes on an ivory or white base, with a gloss finish.
